GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
-› The
surface must be dry prior to the application.
-› Application
of the coatings should not take place if
preparation or fog is
expected imminently.
Application should not be done if the surface
temperature is less
than 50C
above the dew point.
Substrate temperature : minimum = 50C
Maximum = 450C
-› Coating
material shall be stored in a dry place at (50C
to 450C)
and
shall be
delivered to the job site in new unopened
containers bearing
the
manufacturers label. All materials shall be
stacked in a neat and
orderly
fashion by type and component. Empty containers
will be neatly
stacked for count
verification by the designed project inspector.
Containers may
not be removed from the project without the
approval of
the inspector.
-› Coating
materials must be covered and protected from the
weather until
ready for
installation. The material must remain dry prior
to and during
application.
-› For
a new lagoon or other excavated site a FAIRMATE
technical person
survey shall be
conducted to determine the suitability of the
proposed
site.
SURFACE
PREPARATION
-› If
new concrete is based on Portland cement the
concrete must cure at
least 28 days (above
300C). The new concrete shall be free of cracks.
-› New
or old concrete shall be thoroughly cleaned to
remove all dirt, oil,
grease, form release
compound, chemicals and other contaminants.
-› Surface
should be sound and level, blow holes and
surface defects can
be made good with
FAIRSCREED VF epoxy putty to facilitate the
application of a uniform
continious coating. Allow the FAIRSCREED VF to
cure over night.
-› If
damage concrete floors repaired with FAIRSCREED
R for application of
FAIRSCREED R see the
technical data
bulletin of FAIRSCREED R..
PRIMER
-› After
completing the specified surface preparation
apply the specified
primer.
-› A
primer may be recommended for one of the
following reason to
penetrate porosity, block moisture
and provide maximum adhesion of
the subsequent topcoat.
PRIMER APPLICATION
MIXING
-› Primer
comprise of two components, the BASE and
HARDENER should be
poured into the can containing the
BASE and drained well. The two
components should be thoroughly
mixed using a mechanical stirrer e.g.
electric drill with paddle
attachment at least 2-3 minutes. Please place
plastic sheet under the tin or tray
containing the coating to prevent
spillage on surface.
-› In
solvent base coating brush should clean with
SAFECORE TOOL CLEAN
in every two hours and in
SAFECORE TOOL CLEAN in every 45 minutes.
-› Avoid
any thinner or solvent mix in coating materials.
-› Keep
cotton waste readily available so that the dust
or spillage can be
cleaned immediately
-› Use
cello tape for exact bordering and apply it
before applying coating.
-› Before
starting the job wear hand gloves and FAIRMATE
shirt. It is
compulsory.
-› After
applying coating please check the thickness with
thickness comb
when coating is wet.
-› After
completing application of coating using thread
or strips make
boundary to prevent entry in to the
applied area. This will prevent
damage to the applied coating.
-› Use
tins and other items are stack properly and
appropriate separate
place.
-› Clean
the equipments, after coating application, with
SAFECORE TOOL
CLEAN thoroughly.
-› Prepare
the work sheet and get sign from the customer.
-› At
the time of application prevent entry of other
people in to the area
except the applicators.
-› Keep
material dry and clean place
-› If
spillage of coating enters in eyes, wash
thoroughly with cold water
several times and consult a
doctor.
APPLICATION
-› PRIMER
should be applied by brush, roller to give a
continuous clear film
on the prepared surface.
-› Allow
the primer to cure the minimum recoat time
before applying the
coating.
WHERE TO USE
Coating provided for floors, walls, offices,
dairies, car parking, food processing area,
hotel etc. coating is chemical Resistant.
APPLICATION OF COATING
Mixing :
Protective coating comprise of two components
the BASE & the HARDNER, which are supplied
pre-weighed. The HARDNER should be thoroughly
mixed using a mechanical stirrer e.g. electric

give a continuous film on the prepared surface.
The second coat should be applied in similar
fashion on the following day.
PRECAUTIONS

materials as per requirements i.e. nos. of
brush, nos. of skill and unskilled
workers. Everything is okay then start the
coating application.
Ø BASE & HARDENER mix properly at least 2-3
minutes.
