MIXING AND APPLICATION
-› FLOWGROUT
60(S) is supplied as ready to use grouts
requiring addition
of precise quantity of water at
Site.
-› For
mixing of FLOWGROUT 60(S) with water, the
water/powder ratio
should be 0.15 for pourable
consistency and 0.16 for flowable
consistency i.e. to obtain flowable
consistency, 4.0 litre of water is
required for 25kg bag of FLOWGROUT
60(S).
-› For
mixing of FLOWGROUT 60(S), first of all the
mixer drum should be
cleaned with water.
-› No
hand mixing is permitted.
-› Add
80% of total water required for mixing in mixer
machine and add
slowly powder of FLOWGROUT 60(S)
and allow it to mix for 2 min.
-› Add
balance 20% of water and mix them again for 3-5
min.
-› The
quantity of grout required for grouting can be
calculated as per
following.
-› Suppose,
grouting is done for pocket . the dimensions of
the pocket are
as follows.
Width b = 0.50m ; Depth d = 0.50m ; Length l = 0.50m
-› So,
volume of pocket = LENGTH x BREATH x HEIGHT
= 0.50 x 0.50 x 0.50
= 125 m3
As we know that 1cu.m = 1000lit
So, volume = 125 ltrs.
12.5 lit yield is obtained by 25kg. FLOWGROUT 60(S)
-› Add
10% extra due to wastage during application.
-› So,
quantity of FLOWGROUT 60(S) = 275 kg.
-› For
application of FLOWGROUT 60(S), clean the
pockets by brushing or
compressed air jet.
-› Remove
stains of oil and grease using FM-DEGREASER,
which is
solvented degreaser which removes
stains easily.
-› Position
the base plate on shims or jacking screws or any
other levelling
device.
-› Grease
the shims and make them accessible is they are
to be removed.
Drill air relief holes at
high spots in plate to allow venting.
-› If
base plate is large, divide it into sections. l
Utilise the strengthening
ribs of the head box.
-› Place
end form opposite side of the head box 50mm from
base plate
for allowing air to be expelled.
-› Ensure
form is atleast 25mm above the base plate.
-› Provide
water outlet which can be plugged prior to
grouting.
-› Side
forms should be 50mm away from base plate.
-› The
formwork should be coated with SETRELEASE, which
is mould release
agent.
-› Ensure
that forms are fixed tightly by sand cement
mortar.
-› Position
head box to give flow in one direction only.
Typically 50-250mm
head is kept.
-› Use
moveable headbox for repeat pours.
-› For
cementitious grout saturate the pockets with
water for 30min. and
remove the water prior to grouting.
-› For
epoxy grouts, keep concrete dry.
-› Use
placing vessel for continuous pours.
-› Ensure
that crane is available for handiling placing
vessel.
-› For
non continuous, large pours, use large numbers
of buckets, labour.
-› Pour
grout from one side only.
-› Maintain
planned hydrostatic head with continuous supply
of grout.
-› Stop
pouring, when the grout reaches half the
thickness of base plate.
-› Pour
12mm down pea grawel into exposed grouts.
-› For
cementitious grouts ensure that all exposed
surfaces of grout are
cured by water ponding or wet
hessain when grout is touch dry after 2-4
hours.
