FAIRCURE RA
RESIN BASED CURING AIDS

PRODUCT
Curing membrane for concrete, conforming to ASTM 309 TYPE - A (White pigmented).

PURPOSE
To protect concrete against excessive drying out during curing.

USAGE
Ready for use. Applied at the rate of 5 to 6m² litre.

DESCRIPTION
All concrete needs efficient curing in order to optimise its final properties. This entails retaining the maximum moisture content for as long as possible in order to ensure complete hydration of the cement. It is a more effective curing compound. The concrete applied with FAIRCURE RA will be stronger and more durable. It have greater resistance to abrasion. Good curing also guards against shrinkage cracks of the surface.
Efficient curing particularly important in exposed situations such as concrete roads and runways, etc. where the surfaces are subject to the drying action of heat, direct sunlight or wind.
Traditional curing methods - using wet hession, straw, sand or polyethylene sheeting - are never completely efficient as it is impossible to exclude air entirely from the face of the concrete. These techniques waste time, labour and materials, and in addition are difficult to apply to vertical surfaces. FAIRCURE RA membrane curing compound replaces the traditional methods, by virtue of its ease of application, higher efficiency and savings in labour and material costs.

PROPERTIES
FAIRCURE RA is a solution of special resins, formulated for application to freshly-placed concrete. It dries to form an elastic impervious film on the surface which ensures that the concrete keeps as moist as possible during the vital curing period. The film gradually disintegrates on weathering. FAIRCURE RA is available in standard grades. It provides a curing membrane of a pale amber colour having a curing efficiency of 75%. FAIRCURE RA can be supplied pigmented white; or aluminised.

WHERE TO USE
For efficient and positive curing of roads, runways, external floors, bridges, dams, reservoirs, retaining walls and other types of concrete construction. Before using on internal finishes such as floorings and rendering etc., it should be appreciated that the disintegration of FAIRCURE RA film will be considerably delayed due to the reduced weathering effects. We do not recommend the use of FAIRCURE RA for internal surfaces which will subsequently receive a flooring finish, rendering or any other covering or treatment.

HOW TO USE
FAIRCURE RA should be applied 5 to 6m² / 1 litre of surface area. A single spray-applied coat is sufficient. Ensure that all spraying equipments is cleaned thoroughly with white spirit immediately after use. For horizontal surfaces spray on FAIRCURE RA as soon as any excess water has dried off. This is usually within 30 minutes of finishing. Vertical surfaces should be wetted with water after stripping the FAIRCURE RA should not be applied to dry or semi-dry concrete. After application of the FAIRCURE RA membrane, the surface should be left undisturbed for at least 3 hours. Standard precautions should be taken during cold weather to protect the concrete from frost damage.

SHELF LIFE
One year in manufacturer's sealed containers in dry conditions out of direct sunlight.

HEALTH & SAFETY
FAIRCURE RA is inflammable (flash point 50^OC) and the usual precautions against fire and prolonged breathing of solvent vapour must be observed. It is essential that during application the area should well ventilated to prevent build up of solvent fumes. Contact with the skin should also be avoided.
