FAIRCURE WX WHITE
WAX BASED CONCRETE CURING COMPOUND

  BENEFITS
-› Single application forms moisture barrier for whole of the curing period.
-› Eliminates use of water, hessian cloth or sand, completely.
-› No risk of erratic or poor curing and ensures hydration of cement
   efficiently.
-› Ensures hard wearing surface-minimises risk of drying shrinkage, cracks
   and dusty surfaces.
-› Easy and safe spray or brush application.
-› White pigmented so easy to identify and better reflections.

DESCRIPTION
FAIRCURE WX WHITE is a white, low viscosity wax emulsion which incorporates a special reactive emulsion breaking system. This system ensures that the emulsion breaks down to form a non-penetrating continuous film immediately upon contact with a cementitious surface. This impervious film permits more efficient cement hydration, thus reducing shrinkage and increasing durability. Once formed, the membrane will remain on the concrete surface until eventually broken down and eroded by natural weathering. Where it is required to apply a further treatment to such concrete surface, it may be necessary to remove the membrane remaining after curing by wire brushing or other mechanical means. The use of FAIRCURE WX WHITE on internal floors slabs is generally to be avoided where additional surface finishes are to be applied (In such case use FAIRCURE C or FAIRCURE WC). FAIRCURE WX WHITE is however ideal where the concrete surface of floor slab is to be left as 'finished'.

USES
For spraying on freshly casted concrete, or newly exposed concrete surfaces after removal of formwork, to form a temporary membrane which will retain sufficient moisture for effective curing to take place. Used for concreting generally but especially useful for large areas of concrete such as pavements, runways and bridge decks, also for vertical or sloping surfaces as on towers, chimneys, canal lining, columns and beams. Where curing is difficult or unreliable.

STANDARDS
FAIRCURE WX WHITE complies with the internationally recognised ASTM C 309 -81 standard. The water loss for FAIRCURE WX WHITE of 0.29 kg/m2 in 72 hours when applied at 200 ml/m
2 is considerably more efficient than the maximum permissible water loss of 0.55 kg/m2 in ASTM C 309.81.

INSTRUCTION FOR APPLICATION
Exposed concrete slabs : FAIRCURE WX WHITE should be applied on to the slab of the newly placed concrete as soon as possible after the concrete is free from visible surface water, e.g. typically 1/2 to 2 hours after placing. Shuttered and precast concrete. FAIRCURE WX WHITE should be applied to all surfaces as soon as formwork has been removed or the element demoulded. In all cases the nozzle of the spray should be held approximately 450 mm from the concrete surface and should be passed back and forth to ensure complete and even concrete surface and should be passed back and forth to ensure complete and even coverage. The pump pressure should be maintained at a level to produce a fine spray. Rate of application depends on requirements but is typically with in the range of 160 ml to 200ml/M
2 96 to 5m2 per ltr.)

COVERAGE
5 to 6 m
2 per ltr.

SHELF LIFE
FAIRCURE WX WHITE has a shelf life of 12 months when stored at temperature between 4OC to 40
OC. Containers should be kept airtight to prevent surface evaporation. Freezing or prolonged exposure to direct heat or direct sunlight must also be avoided.

HEALTH & SAFETY
FAIRCURE WX WHITE is non toxic. It is advisable to wear goggles when spraying. Inhalation of the spray should similarly be avoided. Should excessive skin contact with the compound occur the area of skin should be washed with soap and water. If FAIRCURE WX WHITE comes into contact with the eye it should be flushed with clean water for ten minutes. If irritation persists, medical attention should be sought.
