DESCRIPTION
FAIRSCREED QUARTZ is three component, multi-coloured
Quartz-based, epoxy resin floor system. It
provides a hardwearing, non-slip, chemical
resistant floor topping of aesthetically
pleasing appearance.
TYPICAL
PROPERTIES
POT LIFE @ 30OC
: 50 minutes ; CURING TIME : Light foot traffic
after 10 hour @ 30OC
full trafficking after 24 hours @ 30OC
Minimum 4 mm, typical 6 mm ; COMPRESSIVE
STRENGTH : 65 N/mm2
(ultimate) ; FLEXURAL STRENGTH : 24 N/mm2
(ultimate) ; TEMPERATURE RANGE : During
application : 50 to 30OC
; In Service : (-) 20OC
to (+) 60OC.
CHEMICAL
RESISTANT
Excellent resistance to dilute
acids and alkalies, oil, petrol, diesel,
vegetable oils and fruit juices.
SURFACE
PREPARATION
Concrete shall be a minimum of 21
days old and for the residual moisture content
shall be below 6%. Ensure that the concrete is
clean and free from dust. laitance, grease, oil,
curing compound, existing paint finishes, etc.
Blow holes and defective concrete shall be made
good using a proprietary repair compound (FAIRSCREED
VF - see data sheet separately). Suitable
mechanical treatment such as vacuum grit besting
is the preferred treatment prior to application,
as this ensures a mechanical 'key' which will
optimise adhesion.
Steel surfaces shall be shot blasted or grit
blasted to a nominal Sa 2.5 Swedish Standard.
All dust shall be removed prior to coating
applications.
MIXING : FAIRSCREED QUARTZ is supplied as a
three pack material consisting of the Resin
component, the curing agent component, and the
coloured quartz component. Add the curing agent
component to the resin component and mix
throughly, preferably by mechanical means, for
minimum of 2 minutes.
Pour the contents into a mixing vessel, and add
the QUARTZ component whilst stirring. A low
speed drill with paddle attachment may be used,
or else a forced action mixer e.g. Creteangle
type.
APPLICATION : Spread the FAIRSCREED QUARTZ to
the desired thickness, and trowel finish.
SEALING : The application of a clear sealer is
recommended to reduce tendency towards staining
and dirt pick up, thereby ensure optimum ease of
cleaning. Apply SAFECORE SEALER COAT.
CURING : Allow a minimum cure time of 1 hour @
30OC
prior to overcoating or floor trafficking for
optimum chemical resistance, a minimum cure time
of 7 days @ 30OC
should be allowed.
PACKING &
COVERAGE
FAIRSCREED QUARTZ is supplied in
25 kg packs. A 25 kg pack is sufficient to cover
an area of 2.3m2
at a thickness of 6mm.
