USES

STANDARD

ROADCRETE MACADAM binder conforms to ASTM-D 1664, ASTM-D 2027 & IS 217-1988 or IS 454-1994 E.

DESCRIPTION

ROADCRETE MACADAM is a single pack bitumen based road repair macadam of a factory controlled fully graded hardstone, coarse and fine aggregates, formulated bitumen and special additives. It is a fast curing, high strength trowel applied concrete designed for instant repair. Its rapid set characteristic allows a fast reopening of traffic. The product is chloride free and can be safely used in contact with reinforcing steel. This material can be applied in wet condition in the temperature range of -9^OC to 40^OC.

TYPICAL PROPERTIES

Colour : Black colour; Working life : 15 minutes ; Setting time : 30 minutes.

PACKING & COVERAGE

ROADCRETE MACADAM is supplied 25 kg packs A 25 kg pack yield 12.5 ltr of concrete sufficient for 0.75m²@ 25 mm thickness.

APPLICATION

SURFACE PREPARATION : All lose particles should be removed by wire brush and airblow. APPLICATION : Apply the patching macadam to pre treated area trowel like regular macadam until desired finish. The mortar can be placed in thickness of 45 mm (to give a 30 mm compacted layer). After placement no special curing is required in moderate ambient conditions.
LAYING : Minimum thickness 45 mm.
CURING : No curing is required.
USAGE OF THE ROAD : Within two hours after the repair.

SHELF LIFE & STORAGE

ROADCRETE MACADAM will have a shelf life of 9 months when kept in dry conditions at a temperature of 5^OC to 45^OC. Storage at higher temperatures and high humidity may reduce the shelf life. If allowed to stand for a long time, container should be stirred well before use.
