chemical and abrasion resistance
-› Seals
and dust proofs the surface
-› Compatible
with most substrate finishes
-› Provides
easily cleanable floor surfaces
-› Internal
and external use

USES
As a curing and sealing treatment
to new concrete and as a sealing and/dust
proofing treatment to old concrete, to provide a
sealed and dust proof surface with resistance to
the ingress of oil and chemical spillages. As a
primer/sealer for subsequent top coating.
WHERE TO USE
Industrial Workshops, Car Parks,
Warehouses, Food preparation areas, garages.
DESCRIPTION
SAFECORE AC is a single pack,
solvent borne, Acrylic resin-based surface
sealer and dustproofer for concrete. When
applied to freshly placed concrete. SAFECORE AC
functions as a curing membrane, reducing any
tendency towards drying shrinkage cracks. At the
same time the surface becomes sealed against the
ingress of oils and many aqueous chemicals, and
a hard wearing floor is produced. When applied
to old/aged concrete floors, SAFECORE AC
penetrates into the pore structure thereby
sealing and dust-proofing the surface. Having
excellent adhesion to concrete, SAFECORE AC
allows the application of subsequent
paint/coating treatments, thereby minimising
surface preparation requirements.
INSTRUCTION FOR
APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION : (a) Old
concrete shall be sound and free from oil,
grease, laitance and other contaminates.
Previously applied paint or curing membrane must
be removed. Wash the floor with a detergent
solution followed by clean water, and then allow
to dry prior to sealer application. (b) Over new
concrete SAFECORE AC may be applied 15 minutes
after the final finish.
APPLICATION : (a) Over old concrete apply a coat
of SAFECORE AC by brush or roller, squeegee or
spray at a nominal rate of 8-10 m2/ltr.
Avoid the formation of puddles of excess
material, after a minimum period of 12 hours a
second coat shall be applied at a rate of 12-14
m2/ltr.
(b) Over new concrete apply SAFECORE AC by spray
at a nominal rate of 6-8 m2/ltr.
Ensure that the material is applied evenly and
avoid the formation of puddles of excess
material on the surface. In hot and / or windy
conditions a second coat of SAFECORE AC should
be applied on the following day at a nominal
rate of 8-10 m2/ltr.
EQUIPEMENT CLEANING : Clean all equipments,
immediately after use, with SAFECORE AC.
DRYING / CURING : SAFECORE AC will be tack free
in 2-4 hours and hard dry after 20-24 hours in
conditions of good ventilation.
PROPERTIES
WORKING LIFE : at 20OC
40 minutes, TOUCH DRY TIME : (at 20OC)
4 hours.
APPLICATION FOR
APPLYING SAFECORE R
SURFACE PREPARATION : The steel
reinforcement should be cleaned by wirebrush or
acid cleaning. All dust particles should be
removed to achieve good bonding of coating.
MIXING : SAFECORE R is supplied in two pack
material with a powder component and the
respective pre-weighed amount of liquid. The
liquid should be poured into the suitable mixing
vessel and the powder component added gradually
to be under mechanical mixing. The continuous
mixing should be done until a homogenous colour
is achieved.
APPLICATION : The mixed SAFECORE R should be
applied by brush in one coat on substrate.
CLEANING : Brush should be rinsed with water
immediately after use.
PROPERTIES
APPEARANCE : Pale straw coloured
liquid; FLASH POINT : 40OC;
DRYING TIME at 30OC
: Tack free - 2 to 4 hrs., Hard dry - 20 to 24
hrs.; CURING EFFICIENCY : >75%; CHEMICAL
RESISTANCE : Resistant to spillages of dilute
minerals, acids, caustic alkali solutions,
Vegetable oils, de-icing salts etc.
PACKING &
COVERAGE
5, 10, 50, 100 ltrs., Coverage is
very much dependent on the porosity of the
substrate. For new concrete apply first coat at
the rate of 5 m2
ltr. To eliminate the curing process 2 to 3
coats in recommended to give perfect
sealing/curing and abrasion resistant for smooth
old concrete surface. Coverage will be 10 to 12
m2
/ ltr.
SHELF LIFE
SAFECORE AC 12 months when stored
in the original, unopened containers, at
temperature between 10OC
to 50OC.
out of direct sunlight.
LIMITATIONS
(a) Apply only in well ventilated
areas (b) Do not apply in areas where food stufs
are stored during application (c) Do not apply
externally if rain is likely during application.
HEALTH & SAFETY
SAFECORE AC is a flammable
material (flash point = 40OC).
Avoid exposure to naked flame or sources of
ignition. For specific advice regarding any
