DESCRIPTION
SAFECORE CE (S) is based on a
solvent based Epoxy Resin system modified with a
hydrocarbon resin, derived from coal tar.
This modified tar is free from pitch and hence
represents a low hazard during use. i.e.
SAFECORE CE (S) is much more user friendly than
conventional Pitch Epoxy Coatings.
SAFECORE CE (S) is supplied as a two pack
material in preweighed quantities ready for
mixing and use.

sodium hydroxide, petrol.
INSTRUCTION FOR APPLICATION
1) Surface Preparation :
All surfaces to be treated with SAFCORE CE (S)
should be sound, clean and free from dust, dirt
grease and other contaminants.
A) Concrete Substrates :
New concrete shall be allowed to cure for a
minimum of 21 days. Laitance shall be removed,
preferably by grit blasting. Any honeycombing,
blow holes etc. shall be filled using FAIRSCREED
VF pores concrete, apply one coat of SAFECORE EP
PRIMER on porous concrete surface.
B) Steel Substrates :
Steel structures should be free from Rust. Old
structures should be sand blasted.
MIXING
The entire contents of the Base
container should be emptied into that containing
the Hardner component, and both the materials
mixed thoroughly to achieve uniform consistency.
Mechanical mixing is prefered e.g. low speed
electric drill with paddle attachment.
APPLICATION
Apply SAFECORE CE (S) by brush or
roller. Following overnight cure a second coat
may be applied.
PACKING &
COVERAGE
5 kg pack.
A 5 kg pack will be sufficient to
coat 12 to 14m2
with the recommended minimum d.f.t. of 200-250
microns.
STORAGE & SHELF
LIFE
Store in dry conditions out of
direct sunlight at temperatures between 10OC
and 30OC.
SAFECORE CE (S) has a minimum shelf life of 9
months when stored in original, unopened
containers in accordance with the manufacturers
instructions.
LIMITATIONS
Do not apply to wet or uncured
concrete surfaces. Do not apply at temperatures
below 5OC.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Avoid contact with skin and eyes
by use of suitable protective clothing and
goggles. All splashes to the skin should be
immediately washed off with soap and water. If
contact with the eyes occur, then irrigate with
copious quantities of clean water, and seek
medical advice.
