TYPICAL USES

As an internal lining for concrete or steel storage tanks; chemical bunds. Chemical resistant floor/wall coating for chemical and printing works, bottling and canning factories, pharmaceutical production etc.

DESCRIPTION

SAFECORE VC is rapid curing, two pack Vinyl ester based coating with outstanding resistance to aggressive acids, solvents and alcohols Sulphuric acid, Methyl, Ethyl, Ketone and Methanol.

TYPICAL PROPERTIES

Colour : Grey, Red, Green ; Pot life at 30^OC : 25 minutes ; Pot life at 30^OC : 60 minutes ; Curing Time : 3 hours ; Touch dry time at 30^OC : 8 hours ; Hard dry time : 3 days ; Full chemical resistance at 30^OC : 4.1 N/mm² (Concrete failure) ; Adhesive strength to concrete : 2^OC to 40^OC ; Temperature range during application In service : -25^OC to 120^OC

INSTRUCTION FOR APPLICATION

SURFACE PREPARATION : (a) Concrete shall be minimum of 21 days old and / or the residual moisture content shall be below 6%. Ensure that the concrete is clean and free from dust, laitance oil, curing compound, existing paint finishes etc. Blow holes and defective concrete shall be made good using a proprietary void filler FAIRSCREED VF. (bB) steel surfaces shall be sand blasted or grit blasted. All dust and grease shall be removed prior to coating application. If a delay is likely to occur between blasting and application. MIXING : Pour the contents of Hardner into the Base container and thoroughly mix, preferably by mechanical means until a uniform colour is achieved. APPLICATION : Apply by brush, roller or airless spray. After a minimum of 10 hours, apply a second coat. Should be slip resistant finish be required, then a broadcast SAFECORE ANTI-SLIP GRAINS immediately after the first coat. Brush off excess aggregate prior to application of the second coat. EQUIPMENT CLEANING : Clean equipment with SAFECORE TOOLCLEAN prior to curing of the coating. CURING : Allow to cure for a minimum of 12 hours at 300C prior to light foot traffic, and 24 hours prior to vehicular traffic. Allow a minimum of 3 days cure at 30^OC for optimum chemical resistance. PACKING & COVERAGE : 1 kg. & 5 Kg. A 5 Kg pack is sufficient to coat 10 to 12 Sq.m of surface with the recommended two coat treatment, providing a D.F.T. 150 to 200 micron.

SHELF LIFE

2 months if store under shed and below 25^OC.
